We got in pretty late on Wednesday night. That meant straight to bed, er.. In-N-Out and then to bed. The next morning, the kiddos enjoyed picking their breakfast off the orange trees out back. Love Arizona Oranges!
Then, before it was even time to get out of Jammies... they were ready to hit the pool! I'm not sure they even got out of the pool at all the first day!
I guess they did get out for a brief moment to recoup before heading back in. We also convinced them that they needed nourishment in order to be able to keep swimming. That meant a lovely outdoor lunch!
Friday was quite the treat. Grandma and Grandpa had rented out the ENTIRE Makutus Island play park just for our boys! Ok, they may not have scheduled it this way, but the boys had free reign of the place to themselves for about an hour or so! They had a great time running through the maze of tunnels and even had to take the adults in for a bit to enjoy the atmosphere.
After our exhausting morning, it was time for family photos by a cactus... because that is a Must in Arizona. Then, you guessed it ~ more swim time!
While we were in AZ, we needed to celebrate Kris' big birthday. He promised to behave now that he is super close to 40... ahem! That is Not behaving, Kris Allen! Put That Pie DOWN!
More pool time? I'm losing track of days here, but rest assured... we had plenty of time in the sun!We spent Saturday morning at Home Depot during the Kid's Build and Grow event (see previous post). After the wagons were built, we headed to Salt River Training Field to watch the Rockies play the San Diego Padres. While we were there, the boys were given official Training Camp baseballs to get signed by the players. And what do you do once you have a coveted signed ball? Play catch with it of course!
The game itself was rather slow and it was a hot day. After the middle of the 8th, we were down by 2 and decided the kids had enough sun for the day. After leaving, we learned there were 6 additional runs in the last inning, which led to a win for the Rockies! Boy, if only we were there to see it! What a Game!
Grandma and Grandpa had scoped out all of Arizona and determined the best restaurant in town was the San Tan Flat Bar and Grille. It did not disappoint. Great happy hour, dinner and plenty of activities! We had an outdoor picnic, which included fun blue drinks, a MolsonCoors conference call, building forts, dancing and S'mores. Sure, dinner was good too, but this atmosphere rocked!
Sunday started out with a nice little run for Kris and I. After our run, mom wasn't feeling very well so we left her to rest and headed to Amazing Jakes for some kiddo entertainment and lunch. They had carnival rides, go carts, bumper cars, laser tag, bowling, you name it! It was quite the place and the kids had such a good time!
Monday rolled around and it was time for the boys all to head home. That meant one thing for the Cannodes... One more In-N-Out experience complete with milk shakes! We had an unforgettable trip and were so blessed to be able to spend so much time with our family. Thank you, Mom and Dad for planning such a great trip for the Cannodes. Can't wait to go back and visit you guys again next year!
