Snowy Saturday?

As it is still snowing mid-may... thought it was appropriate to include this fun post.  Granted, these pics were from back in January, but we had such a fun time building snowmen that I had to include their cute little dudes before summer officially starts.
Time to Ski?  Ok, this was from on our way to Steamboat back in November, but ... darn it. He is such a cutie pie! Had to include this pic before it is time for boating pics!
Oh, and this bonus pic?  Just so cute to see how in love these little boys are with our kitty.  Cam helps us wake them up every morning. He jumps on the bed, smells their breath and tickles them with his whiskers until they wake up.  He starts purring the instant they give him a morning hug and kiss and of course a scratch under his chin.

Mom's Day Traditions

It's true; I'm spoiled and have had some lovely mothers day traditions over the past 6 years.  Most of them have included breakfast in bed (which I think the kiddos love even more than I do) followed by a family day on our boat.  Last year, in particular, the weather did not cooperate and we got bombarded with snow. So, instead of a boat ~ we went sledding!  Still a great Mom's Day!  And how can Mom's day not be awesome with these crazy men?
This year, we had our kitchen pulled apart for a remodel and our boat was in the shop for 3 full weeks.  I guess I need new traditions.  Ok, then all I want is a hot bath, a pedicure and some flowers.  Is that asking too much?  Well, we first tried a hot tub cuddle fest, but that wasn't relaxing enough.  Instead, the boys drew me a bath, but I think it looked too inviting as they hopped right in!  What about a nice Pedicure!  Kasey was on the job!  What about Flowers?  Karsten pick pocketed Daddy's wallet and ordered those to be sent to my office in the middle of close week (when I really needed the pick me up!)  Yes, I would say I have very sweet boys, indeed.
On actual Mother's Day, we started our day attending church together and then I got to open my hand made presents.  Both boys made me personalized cards and Karsten even made me a lovely sun catcher!  I was also super excited they chose to buy me CSU yoga pants, which I immediately put on!
Kasey's school had a "Muffins for Moms" breakfast in their cafeteria.  Was fun to be a part of that and get to know some of Kasey's friends better.  Karsten's school had "Munchies for Moms", but that just meant they gave me a bag of Doritos (no pics of that sweet moment; ha).
Thank you to these Ham Heads (and their daddy) for making my Mommy memories so special.  I am truly super lucky to have been blessed with both my children and thank God every day for how he had my life planned out so perfectly.

Keep it Classic; Rock the 80's!

All right, here's the 411: Totally Tennyson is an event sponsored by Leprino each year.  The profits from the events help the nearby schools.  If that isn't mad cool enough... it just so happens that the event is a bar crawl with an 80's theme!  Um, where do we sign up for this sick event?!! Kris and I had fun sportin' items from our closet and reliving one of the best styles of our decades.  I was actually supposed to wear a denim skirt, but it turned out way too cold for that and had a last minute wardrobe change.
We started out the night in the radical VIP tent, where we had heaters (this was key on such a snowy night) and a silent disco.  They had headphones for each of us and we all listened to our own channel of 70's, 80's or 90's music and danced to our own beat. We met up with some of our B.F.Fs, Frankie and Amy Newman and a couple of their friends and started checking out all the vendors throughout the night.  We ran into a couple of coworkers throughout the night. Was fun to hear stories of their favorite places to check out before the night ended.
The night was, like, totally boss and we had a slammin' time hanging with our crew. And where were our cute kiddos, you ask?  The Kruegers took them for a night of fun and movies.  Looks like everyone had a great night! Thank you, Erika and Curtis for watching our little men!

Daddy's are Amazing

What? This post is All about Dad?  Why?  Didn't Mother's Day just happen?  Yes, it is true, but more on Mother's Day later.  This one is all about the handsome and caring man I married.  We have enjoyed plenty of fun dates together, like the one above where I got a bulls-eye to win the game!  But some of my best memories are watching my favorite men work together.  They love making Jerky, cooking chili or using our smoker.  It's fun to see how hands on they get and how interested they are in why each ingredient makes it taste better.
They also do a great job of helping around the house.  They love working outside to help with the boat or change the oil.  Really, anything where they get to work with Dad and more importantly they get to wear safety goggles.
We also recently 'almost' finished a bedroom in the basement. This became our game room.  Although I don't spend much time down there, the boys have been enjoying learning the Wii with Daddy.  I'm pretty sure their favorite game is the boxing one, but I also see a lot of baseball being played.  And even though technology is pretty cool; nothing can surpass a riveting game of Candy Land!  I love that games from my childhood still bring smiles to little ones today.
And after a long day of playing, sometimes the best part of the day is being tucked in by Daddy.  Yes, this man is a superstar in our eyes. He does a great job balancing work, family and sanity.  Some days, I just sit back and take notes!

CSU Spring Game

Our house might just stand still after football season is over.  Don't get me wrong, we enjoy some other random events with friends, but we sure miss seeing them regularly up in Fort Collins.  The Green and Gold Spring Game is the perfect way to break it up and see them one more time before our summer is filled up with boating and camping.  All four of us shot out of bed that morning to get ready for the game!  Once we got there, we did some tailgating and Keith even brought this super cool new propane grill.  Looked like a Wok and worked like a charm.  I am hoping it will make another appearance at another tailgate soon!
This year was super cool because our kiddos were old enough for "Football Camp".  Kasey was apprehensive at first.  Ok, he outright told me he would "NEVER do Football camp, Ever", but the second he hit the field... he changed his mind.  Both boys were in the same group (which was super helpful for pics).  They started at one location and started rotating throughout all the different technical rotations over the next hour or so.  The idea was to provide a foundation for basic football fundamentals and all expert coaching was provided by the CSU players.  They covered the three point stance, how to throw a spiral, how to receive the quarterbacks throw, etc.  Was so great to see how much fun they were having.  This was by far my favorite part of the day.
After camp was over, we retired upstairs to the Hughes Room, where we enjoyed comfy seats, great Colorado beverages and snacks.  The day went so fast, I feel like there were people I didn't even get to catch up with.  After the game ended, we went down on the field to get signatures on our 2016 poster.  The boys proudly display their posters on the wall all year and check constantly at which team we will play next.
This year was extra fun for me as we ran into Fred Zerblis, offensive lineman, who was a freshman back in the 2013 New Mexico Bowl game against the Cougars and who we have watched grow as a player each year! We even got to meet our new coach for the first time.  Coach Mike Bobo came to us from the Georgia Bulldogs at the start of the 2015 football season. He had an overall good year and we are looking forward to seeing how his recruiting efforts worked this year.
The boys missed their Rammie Friends, but did great entertaining each other that day.  They loved meeting the players and getting autographs and as a bonus... both kids got a pair of matching gloves! Will be fun to see if they will wear them one day when they fit a little better!

All Star Pro Rodeo

We were so bummed this last January when Karsten got put in the NWSS rodeo and we were not only thousands of miles away, but in an entirely different country!  Everyone was stoked when the kiddos got selected for the All Star Pro Rodeo.  This was where they first rode one year ago.  They have had plenty of practice and were ready to get out there and mess around in the dirt.
After singing the national anthem, it was time to get out there.  Kasey was first up and, well, there is no other way to say it... he got a bum ride.  His darn sheet literally ran in circles.  This created no fun and a low score of 68 for Mr Kasey.
Karsten was up next.  The picture says it all.  This kid held on tight and did Great!  He was apprehensive from his last ride (where the sheep stepped on him), but obviously got over that fear real quick.  His ride scored him an 84!  Karsten came in 2nd place to a kid with a score of 86, but between you and me... the other kid only got 2 additional points because he got stepped on.  Oh well, hope you win the Ariat boots next time, Bud!
Win or Lose ~ These boys enjoyed getting down and dirty with the cowboys.  We are so proud of them and love how adventurous they are to try out stuff like this.  It can be scary, but in the end... each kid had a blast!
After the Rodeo, there was a concert playing that we just had to check out.  Kasey took a photo for us of all the adults in attendance.  Of course, I had to take a pic of the kiddos at the concert too.  They couldn't' see much due to their height, but sure enjoyed dancing like crazy people!  Until Next Time, little cowboys!  Keep practicing and get ready to try again at the next rodeo!
