Look! I'm Peddling

The boys each received a tricycle for Christmas this past year from Santa.  To date; we have just watched them sit on it and use their feet to 'scoot around' the culdesac.  The other day, we were outside and Lo and Behold ~ Kasey was Peddling!  What a big day!  When asked if he wanted to take his bike for a ride on our next walk; his eyes became Huge! He was So Excited and we are So Proud!
Karsten, not to be outdone, has been scooting around like a crazy man on his Harley Davidson scooter.  He absolutely loves it and would even forgo dinner just to have a few more minutes on it (if we would let him).  Looks like our future walks are going to change a bit in the near future!

I completely realize this has nothing to do with a Tricycle, but it was too cute not to include.  Gotta Love My Little Men Protecting the Public!  No Worries ~ Kasey and Karsten are here to Protect & Serve!

Cheyenne Frontier Days

What do we love More than a Rodeo?  A Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo!  Especially, when we get in the suite!!  Holly Frontier (which will from hereon out be referred to as 'The Company which Shall not be Named') still has a box at the rodeo and we were pleased to once again be able to meet up and enjoy the tasty food, beverages and a bunch of swag this year!
Don't I look Just Like Papa!

Hop in, Sarah! I got this!
Before heading to the rodeo we had to stop off and play a bit.  That included driving 4 wheelers and playing duck racing games.  We would've stopped at the petting zoo, but Unfortunately... it was Employee Only Day on the day we visited.
After we were tuckered out from walking; we headed to the suite.  Nice Seats, huh?  The rodeo was a blast and we even got to talk to the Governor of Wyo and a Rodeo dude.  That one was kinda funny cause he was actually a distant relative to Jason.

All in all, I wish it were warmer that day, but it was a fabulous day, none the less.  Can't wait until next year!  btw: Karsten still loves the bulls the best and Kasey is in awe over the bouncing horses.  The only thing I noted this year was that they were cheering for the animal ... not the rider.  Guess we gotta work on that before our next rodeo!

Charming Camp Hosts

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa isn't all Fun and Games.  Sure, there is time for an occasional Popsicles and some splash time in the pool, but... We Have to Earn Our Keep out here at Chatfield.  Every morning we need to start with our chores.  First we must water the new evergreens.

Then, it is time to clean the campsites.  This is pretty tough work (especially if someone decides not to follow the rules and washes their motor home before leaving ~ ARG ~ Can you say "MudPit").   We of course keep safety in mind first.  Plenty of water and a face mask in while you are cleaning out the fire pits.
Cleaning the sites includes raking the rocks, sweeping the RV pad and of course making sure the bicycles and golf cart remain clean.  This is Kasey's favorite part.  Anything that includes spraying 'chemicals' (aka: water) on anything is fun.

Yes, these kids are quite helpful and actually request to go help Gma and Gpa with their daily tasks.  Its pretty cute and we all get in some exercise too as we move between sites.  A great way to start the day!

'Merican Pride at the Ranch

A good friend of ours, Josie, has a family ranch up near Silverthorne... I'm not saying it is pretty... It is Beyond Gorgeous!  They have 800 acres up there for us to run and frolic.  Thanks to Josie and her family for allowing us to come up to the first party at the Ranch in over 35 years!  After this fun day - we are hoping we don't have to wait another 35 years for the next one!

Josie and her Pops

Some of my favorite boys, Hanging out
The day started out with awesome food brought by all.  Everything was amazing.  Karsten is hooked on deviled eggs.

Tyson showing off his eating skills
One of the best parts from a parent's eye was that Tyson's Grandpa created a dirt hill "Just for the day" for the kids to play on.  My kids were drawn to it within the first five minutes.  I initially told them to get off; not understanding it was the playground for the day.  After that - it was one cloud of dust after another.

And seriously, what kind of party doesn't have a Potato Gun to launch at the nearby Mule cart.  For the record, Geoff is launching potatoes at his wife driving the cart.  Gotta love that relationship!
Then, there is always time to wander the beautiful land to think and ponder life.  Seriously, am I an accountant or a photographer? I feel these shots could be in a magazine.  Ok, so maybe it is the scenery and two beautiful ladies that makes the pics so great.  At any rate; some of my favorite shots of the day!

Daddy, Pleeease Pick me up
"Got a little Captain in you?"
After the grown ups were done pondering life; it was time for dinner.  No, not for us ... for the 25 head of cattle on the property.  I am not sure who was more stoked to help feed the cows; Amy or the kids.

MOM! That was Great!! Can we get a cow at our house?!?
What an adventure, now it is time to just hang with friends and play some horseshoe and corn hole before resting a bit.

Sarah ~ AKA: The Kid Whisperer
(Bella, Tyson, Addy and Kasey)

Wait - the entire state of Colorado is on a fire ban.  What do you mean we can have a fire on your property?  AWESOME!  Lets find the Biggest marshmallows we can find and grill them up! YUM!

Whoa! That was a bigger Marshmallow than I Thought!
Wow - what a day.  So many activities in one day.  Time for bed....
Or Maybe it is just time for a TICKLE FIGHT!!!!
Here Comes the Tickle Monster!!!!
Thanks again, Geoff, Josie and your family for including us on this fun day.  My kids still talk about it over a month later!
