They boys must have been in on the plan and knew I wanted to sleep in; so they got up at 7 am (a whole hour later than normal). Kasey snuck in and crawled into bed with me for some cozy cuddles. The morning cuddles from my boys is my favorite part of every day. Karsten soon wanted in on the fun, so we turned on some cartoons (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is a current favorite) and enjoyed the quiet time with my boys. Kris was downstairs whipping up a yummy breakfast in bed.
We also got to open some fun cards and presents! The boys bought me a card that sprung up into a paper vase with flowers. They also made me some cute presents at school. Kasey gave me four coasters; two of them with pics of Kasey, one of his handprint and the last with a heart and 2012 printed over it. Karsten has always loved his music (he is my little Piano Man) and pulled together a "Mommy and Me Songbook" at school. It has all the traditional songs, Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Row your Boat and MORE!
We also had George and Pat coming over later in the day for a BBQ. Awhile back, the Cannodes gave us a sundial that was pretty faded from the sun. Amy has had the intent since that day for sprucing it up! What a perfect opportunity to get it ready for our celebration. The boys were excited for their messy art project and were thrilled with the color choices from paint we had on hand.
Karsten always points to his teeth during pictures. We tell him to say 'Cheese', but he thinks we are saying "Teeth" |
Grandma was thrilled with her Spruced Up Sundial and liked the secret message in the middle from her grandbabies. If ever Pat forgets.. she just needs to lift up the sundial part to see that the boys LOVE YOU!
It was a wonderful day to celebrate both Being a Mommy and Having two wonderful Moms!
