Kris is ...40??!?!?!

Well, sometimes he FEELS like he is 40 years old.  He went skiing on Friday at Winter Park and I believe he is still feeling it four days later.  On Saturday, he officially turned THIRTY FIVE!  Wow!  Remember when we thought '30' was old?!?  We started the day with Starbucks and presents in bed.  The boys gave him the entire series of Die Hard.

Amy, Bill and Sandy gave him a new Minkota Remote Controlled Trolling motor!  In fact, as spoiled as he is... we went to go pick it up and got such a great deal... He got a new fish finder too! (ours was going on the fritz).  I know... kinda spoiled, but it isn't Every day you turn THIRTY FIVE!

Erika and Curtis were SO NICE to offer up their house for a wonderful 'themed' party.  We did a "Fat Kid/Skinny Kid" party for Kris' birthday.  We had a line drawn down the middle of the table and on one side had the healthy food (Cale chips, veggie enchiladas, brussel sprouts, enchilada soup, etc) and on the other side was the great tasting, but what we refer to as Fat Kid Food (fried chicken nuggets, fried mac and cheese, fat kid bean dip, donuts, etc).  It was ALL Delicious and the party was an Amazing Success!

This is where our kids spent MOST of the party

After everyone had grazed for a bit on the yummy dishes, we brought out Kris cake.  It was made by an Awesome friend and former neighbor, Sandy.  She is Super talented as you can see!

Looks like someone needed some help blowing them out.
Good think Kasey and Luke were Ready!
Is it good luck to eat the bottle cap?
It was a Big Birthday weekend!  We got together with Kris' parents and his brother for dinner on Sunday night too! Was so nice to see them all two days in a row!  Kris seems to continually choose Red Lobster as his birthday coincides with Lobsterfest.  I had to laugh cause Kasey has been listening to Kris all week.  As soon as we got there; Amy grabbed the kid menu and said to Kasey "Do you want chicken fingers, mac and cheese or shrimp"... Kasey didn't miss a beat.  "I want Lobster.  Lobster is my FAVORITE".  btw: he got chicken fingers instead.

Thanks to all for making his Big Birthday a Wonderful Success.  We had so much fun celebrating with both friends and family and are reminded every time we get together with them how blessed we are to be surrounded by such wonderful people!  Happy Birthday, Old Man!
