Little Bunny Foo-Foo

Kasey and Karsten's favorite song is "Little Bunny Foo-Foo; hopping down the forest; scooping up the field mice and bopping them on the head!"  Well; here are my little bunny foo-foos on Easter day!  The first one is of them at "Singing Church" (as Kasey calls it) before service started.  Karsten is practicing ringing his bell to announce "He Is Risen!"

Every year I am intrigued by how the egg hunts show where the boys are developmentally. At one year; they kinda toddled around and when they see an egg they become focused on that egg. Age two need an egg in each hand, but then get kind of stuck from there! This year, Karsten at age three is totally on board...he understands the purpose and was ready to run out to get those eggs! However after a few minutes he got a little side tracked.  Kasey was another story! At age four, he had this gig down.  He remembered the egg hunt from prior years.  He was completely focused until there were no eggs left! Good thing he realized his brother got distracted.  Often I would see Kasey putting eggs in Karsten's basket.  What a great big brother!  Can't wait to see what happens next year... are you familiar with The Hunger Games?  All I have to say is these faces tell me ... the Game is On!

Karsten, Catch this green egg in your basket!

These smiles are the result of a Successful Hunt!  In fact, I have to pass on to the Easter Bunny that my kids shouted several times "This is the Best Hunt EVER!"  Nice Work, Mr Bunny!  Nice Work!

Road Trip!!!

I realize I still owe a few posts related to Easter, but this day had to be memorialized in its own Timely post.  George and Pat came up with a great idea to send the kids a packin'.  And boy, they were ready!  We have been talking up this road trip for weeks and the boys got really excited when we started packing their bags.  The Double K's are heading out to Tennessee this morning with Gma and Gpa Cannode.  They will take a few days to travel down there in the motor home and will spend the next couple of weeks enjoying time with their grandparents as well as their 2nd cousins and seeing the great USA!  We dropped the kiddos off at the motor home last night and got lots of hugs.  This pic was when I asked them if they were ready for their trip. I guess the answer was a firm 'Yes!'
Kris and I will be meeting them in Tennessee on May 16th and can't wait.  We have lots we will be doing in the next 16 days, but are already missing our boys as they hit the interstate and head south.  Thank goodness for technology - we will be skyping/face-timing them Daily!

Green & Gold Game

Football season already? No way... well... Maybe it is time!  Karsten has been asking almost weekly (if not daily recently) when we could go watch the Rams play!  Well, just our luck! We have two weekends in a row where we get to watch them play a scrimmage.   The first was at Dicks Sporting Good Park in Denver.  It was a perfect day to be outside enjoying friends and football.
After the scrimmage was over, they allowed us to all go o the field and get signatures from the players.  The boys were a little shy at first, but quickly got the hang of it.  They even got Cam the Ram to give them a signature!

After the exciting scrimmage and of course meeting all the players (and cheer leaders) we wanted to let the kids run off a little steam at the park.  What fun to watch these kiddos play together.  Everyone has so much fun when we get together with the Tiley crew!

The week after, we were spoiled to enjoy a game from the Ram Booster Suite Level in Ft Collins.  Of course, we had to have a short tailgate before heading in.
As you can see; the kids really enjoyed the view, the warmth of being out of the wind... and don't forget all the free popcorn, cookies and juice!
The adults enjoyed the free beverages as well as staying warm.  Was interesting not being able to hear the field though. Amy really missed that aspect.

After the game, they let us on the field to get autographs.  Karsten was all about the Cheerleaders and Cam the Ram.  Kasey was in awe over the big football players and their helmets.

Afterwards, we let the kids burn off a little steam.  Not sure "uncle Kyle" is used to playing with so many kids.  Love the protective stance there, bro!
Now, there is a man who can calm down children in a heartbeat.  Who else would've gotten this rambunctious group settled down for a quick pic!?!
Can't wait for a fun season this fall!
Karsten is already asking when the next game is!

Saving the World One Day at a Time

Super Heroes are Always Awesome! Especially when they have Big Muscles and a Cape!  Last Friday was Super Hero Day at school and the boys have never gotten ready so fast in the morning.  They couldn't wait to fight crime.
Karsten put on his outfit and said "Look, Mommy! I'm So Strong!"  (as he tried to bend his spoon from breakfast).  Here is a pic that Karsten's teacher, Ms Carrie, sent to us right before he got to play in the bounce house.  Looks like fun, buddy!
Kasey enjoyed wearing his Batman Pjs again with the hat Grandma made for him and was super excited about the Bounce House.  Kasey's teacher, Ms Julie, sent the following pictures of Kasey and his crew.  I am glad he has so many strong friends to fight crime with!

Super Hero Saturday

Good Lord, this woman is Talented!  Gma Pat Loves to spend her spare time crocheting and thankfully for us, we get some sweet presents as a result.  In the past, we have received a winter hat that was a Frog, a crown and many pairs of mittens (cause they always outgrow them quickly).  The one I like the best is that Grandma couldn't watch how cold the boy's hands would get as they ate their frozen GoGurt yogurt pops.  So, solution solved!  What do you think? Do you think the kids like them?

She even designed something so the boys got to shoot lightening bolts from their hands like The Flash!  Amy tried them out to see if the lightening would help warm up her steering wheel, but Silly Girl... she wore them the wrong way!  Lightening bolts come out of your palms, Amy!
This past weekend was Batman!  Good thing Kasey was prepared in his Batman PJs when receiving his present.  Cape Included!  Karsten looked like a bit of a confused Super Hero, but he definitely had "the Stare" down pat!  Ready for Action!
We even got to go out in public in our PJs for dinner that night cause we were so excited about our presents!  Yup, we were totally the coolest people at Chilis that night!  Thanks, Gma!

Luck of the Irish

Although Karsten is of Irish decent; he has not been so lucky lately.  The week before St Patties Day, he came home with a rug burn on his neck.  Just playing too hard; kids will be kids.  The very next day, Amy received a call from school that started out with "don't freak out, but..."  Karsten had tripped on the playground and ended up with a fat lip and cuts across his face.  Concrete = 1; Karsten = 0.  I feel I had to explain that short story in this blog to explain Karsten's owie in all the pics.
Amy comes from a line of Mulvaneys and Kris has a Irish blood on his side too as a McLaughlin.  We are Proud to be Irish in this family and are excited to share this fun holiday with our kiddos.  We used to just go to a friends house and drink a lot of green beer... Well, now... um... I guess we still kinda do the same thing!  Thank goodness our friends invite our kiddos and puppies over too!  Kasey and Karsten were super excited to hang out with their friends at the "Leperchaun's Birthday Party".  Evidently, every party we attend HAS to be someones birthday.  After explaining ten times it was a holiday called St Patties Day; we got tired and said it was Leperchaun Pete's birthday (from Micky Mouse).  These are two excited kiddos below although poor Karsten's lip was hurting from his previous unlucky slip on the playground.
Kyle also gets pretty excited about this holiday being from Irish decent and offered to host this year's get together.  Kids and Puppies welcome ... and boy, were they!  This house was flooded with new puppies and lots of kiddos to play with them!

Bella and her Daddy, Frankie
Amy lost Karsten for just a bit at the party, but it was a good thing Kasey knew where he was!  The kids thought it was pretty funny to have such a nice "Kid Door" (aka: puppy door) to let them in and out of the backyard.  Once outside, Kasey found a stake and decided he would go hunt vampires.  Wrong holiday, but ok, buddy.

Kasey, Tahlea and Julie

The grown ups had plenty of fun inside where it was warmer.  Lots of yummy food such as Bangers and Hash and of course Lucky Charms!

Jim and Sarah's new pup, Midnight

We even had to take a quick group pic to send to Big Karsten.  Karsten used to host the St Pats event until he moved to AZ.  Now, we just miss him terribly and wanted him to know we were thinking of him!
The kids started getting tuckered out with all that play.  Good thing we had a movie that captured their attention!
Definition of a great St Patties Day?  Well, Cute kiddos = Check; Great Friends = Check; Delicious Food and Beverages = Check....
And Two Tuckered out Kiddos = Double Check!
