Valentines Day Sleepover

Our kiddos have had sleepovers before... Lets see... Do Grandma and Grandpa's count? How about Cousins?  Oh, I know.  Mason Freas (1 week older than Karsten) slept over this past summer and we had a blast.  We played at a playground, watched movies, played ball a bit and even enjoyed a little tenting experience.  There might have even been a moment where Amy wasn't watching the kids for a second ... and all three of them lined up, dropped trow and started peeing in the park.  Might not be the sweetest memory, but sure was the funniest Amy can remember in a long time.
Who knew you could fit three full sized car seats in a Jeep?

"Best Friends"
Amy was recently talking to Erika and offered to watch her precious children for a sleepover.  This would give Erika and Curtis a much deserved romantic night together.  And... added bonus!... We made our kiddos ecstatic with the news of a sleepover with friends! After we got home from school, we had to go through our goodie bags from their school friends.  Then, Luke and Julie Arrived!

Amy isn't much into V-day, but for kiddos... she sure is!  We started the day with presents and candy for the kids.  Then, some heart shaped pizza!

Soul Mates???
After dinner, the kids ran around a bit and then we decided to jump into an art project.  Amy loves pinterest and even loves it more when she consolidates ideas.  This one entailed her making a heart out of masking tape and placing in the center of the paper.  The kids then scribbled all over the paper and then colored in the shapes they made.  After you take off the masking tape - whalah! A perfect heart surrounded by Beautiful colors.  I think it turned out great!  Don't you?

We also got to play a few games, like going on a bear hunt in the dark and watching The Little Mermaid.  No pictures there, because well.. it is in the dark.  Bedtime went perfect as they were all exhausted from the big Bear Hunt and some of the kids even slept in the next day.  Who am I kidding... mine were both up by 6am, but Luke and Julie got a few extra zzz's before starting their Saturday.  All in all; it was a perfect sleepover and we are excited for our next one!

I Will Never Grow Up

Our local theatre in Parker (the P.A.C.E) continually puts on productions.  Amy has gone to one, but we have never brought the kids.  We thought this one would be perfect and they were Beyond Excited!  We were fourth row and center and it was an Amazing show.  It absolutely kept the boys on the edge of their seat.  They even ask on a regular basis to go back and see it again.
I was impressed at my astute, little Karsten who called out that they weren't "really" flying as they had wires attached to their backs.  This kid is too smart at only three years old!  At least the wires didn't interfere with his enjoyment!  Kasey's favorite part was when Peter Pan made animal sounds during the "I've gotta Crow!" song.  He would not stop giggling (and 'ka-kawing' with Peter).

SuperBowl XLVIII

We could not wait to host the Broncos Superbowl.  The second the AFC Championships were over, the evite went out.  George and Pat came to our house prior to the party to catch up with their little men.

Then, it was time for the adults to play. And how do you start an adult party? Um... I guess by enjoying a Quick beverage and some food.

Oh Yeah!  It is Game Time, Baby!  This is going to be the best game we have ever seen.  Reminiscent of days gone by when Amy and Kris watched their first superbowl together at the LXA house back in 1998 where the Broncos beat the Packers 31-24.  Game On!

Ok, that first play was tough... I mean, really... who would've guessed the first play would end up with a safety for the Seahawks.  That is ok, Lets continue cheering folks!

Even the boys in the front room were practicing their football moves.  Yup, future Bronco Stars; mark my word!
Um... Ok, lets not discuss the entire game.  Lets just say the pic below describes the event perfectly.  Final Score? 43-8.  No, that was not a typo.  The Broncos really only scored 8 points in four quarters.  Wow, what a tough way to end a great season.  There is always next year, boys.  Once a fan; always a fan! Go Broncos!

Gotta Go, Gotta Go, Gotta Rodeo!

We decided it would be 'fun' to take the kids to the rodeo.  They normally Love it!  Karsten did love it and was entirely enthralled with the events.  Kasey.. um.. not so much.  I think he was just too darn tired to enjoy anything.  We had so much fun prior to the Rodeo; I think Kasey was at the end of his fun rope.  Here are a few pics of the happy kiddos before tired set in.

This is my favorite idea from the guys.  Can't you just see it...
Jim:  "Hey guys, look... chairs"
Scott: "Yes! The chairs are right next to this "kid kennel area"
Kris: "Cool - I will go grab us beers"

Rodeo Time!  Like I said, we had a few short smiles from Kasey before he was done with the rodeo.  Karsten couldn't have been happier!

Yup - Kasey is nearing his meltdown mode....
This is Mason's first rodeo.  He enjoyed watching the events, but I think it was a little too loud for him.  Next time, we are bringing him ear protection so he can rest those tired arms.
Well, if that wasn't enough fun with the kiddos on Saturday... on Thursday, Kyle hooked us up with Marriott tickets and a VIP room prior to the event.  We thankfully, had Gma and Gpa Cannode to watch the boys and headed straight there from work.  Was fun being treated like VIPS in the reception area.  They had tasty food and we were happy they were promoting Coors products!
Totally random, but in the very next section over was Pete Shattuck (LXA from school).  Pete was a great friend in college who we had lost touch with.  He was the one who convinced Kris to buy Amy a corsage for our first date!  Smooth!  Pete was enjoying the rodeo with his beautiful family and we got to sit and catch up for a bit with him.
On Friday, Amy was blessed with some JBS Meats tickets through her friend, Angie.  She had a few extra tickets so Kris' co-worker Kate joined us as well as two other JBS employees.  Here is our fun Ladies night out pic below!  Was fun being out on the town, but not going to lie... Amy was a little tired staying out so late so many nights in a row!
Yep, I think we got our fill of the Rodeo this year.  We Love attending and it made it extra fun to see so many different friends each time!  Can't wait until next year

New Years Eve

Erika offered to Co-Host a "Kid Friendly New Years Eve" with me this year.  My idea?  Lets have the adults fondue while the kiddos play or watch movies... Yup - Just call me "parent of the year".  Her Idea? Well, it was a little more Fun!   Here is a quick pic of the cute Hostesses for the night, Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker.
Erika came up with activities for the kids to do on the hour starting from 5pm until midnight (if they made it).  She blew up balloons with activities inside each one.  Once the balloon was popped, we had one hour to finish the project.
Cover your Ears!
The first activity? Getting these kids fed of course.  What a smart Mom to make this one first.  Personal Pizza's all around.  Thank goodness I know a gal who gets The Best Mozzarella this side of the universe!  Dinner was followed by a HUGE gingerbread man dessert.

Then, the real fun began.  Glow In the Dark Bubbles, Cotton Candy Soda Drinks and popping bubble wrap! Um, COOL Ideas!  In case you didn't know... this is what Totally Happy Kids look like!

What were the adults doing during all of this?  Eating of course!  Amy had worked hard on creating a mingling fondue.

After our fun dinner, we ensued in a friendly game of "Cards Against Humanity".  Best game I have played in awhile... although make sure kiddos are in a different room than the adults!  I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.
Some of us had to work on New Years as I hear it is a pretty busy day for a police officer.  These smiles below are ones of a loving couple so happy Curtis got there just in time to ring in the New Year!
Ok, the kiddos didn't quite make it....  But we finished off their balloons for them!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
And to finish off the perfect New Years Eve?  ... A Lucky New Years Day meal with family!
